Space 220 is store in Pacific Place Mall which has seen many tenants come and go because a majority of its floor area is hidden from view. Bigger retail area can sometimes be the biggest problem in a compact downtown mall.
The competion brief asked for a open proposal on 'how to get people into the space? My propsoal which won 2nd place invovled three key concepts. First, position the entry towars the cashier's desk. Second, create the shortest path into the 'hidden' zone. Lastly, create 3 distinct zones inside the store space. A curved and recessed ceiling along the path of entry unifies these three themes.
