The project explores the idea of a wall as a plane for interacting two spaces: working and living. The wall divides but also unites the two with a circulation axis, structural connection, and a variety of window penetrations. Located in an industrial/ artisan neighborhood, the work and gallery spaces are situated on the street side while the living quarters are towards the rear.
The raised garden space, framed in-between the wall and neighboring building, forms a mixing area for public and private areas on the site. The roof above the work space is accessible from the bedroom quarters and looks out onto the Lake Union Canal.
